Accutane Side Effects
To make a sick person well, you have to give their cells all the things they need to function normally; a single prescription drug can disrupt multiple cell functions causing thousands of biochemical changes.
Accutane is not capable of precisely targeting only the cells or DNA codes that cause acne, this acne medication can also affect other non related cells and DNA strands of your body causing potentially dangerous side effects, this is why Accutane is prescribed by doctors as a last resort.
Severe side effects of Accutane include:
Ulcerative colitis Crohn’s Disease Inflammatory Bowel Disease Severe depression Suicidal thoughts Birth defects Liver damage, with symptoms of nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss, and jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin) Allergic reaction to isotretinoin, resulting in liver disease and other health complications
Additional side effects of Accutane include:
Acne flare-upsSevere skin dryness, especially on the lips, nostrils, genitals, and eyesHair thinning / hair lossHeadacheImpaired night visionThinning of the skin, making bruising and cuts more likely and slower to healFatigueBrittle nailsIncreased sensitivity to sunlightMenstrual problems, including irregular or heavier periodGastrointestinal problems, including diarrheaMuscle painSkin conditions and infections, including impetigo, paronychia, and pyogenic granuloma and eczema
Did you know?
The makers of accutane (Roche pharmaceuticals) are listed in the top 10 of worldwide fraudulent companies (1999 Multi National Monitor) and they have been directly accused of seriously under-playing the potential side effects of accutane.
There are more than 500,000 different prescription medications sold via pharmacists and doctors in the U.S. and other countries. The FDA indicate that Accutane is number 4 on the top ten list of medications attracting serious reports of side effects and is number 5 on the FDA top ten list of medications attracting severe psychiatric side effects.

Healthy Lifestyle Equals Beautiful Skin
We need vitamins to keep our skin healthy and beautiful as well. Vitamin A is the most important wrinkle enemy we can put to use in order to have supple skin. Vitamin A deficiency is associated with thick, itchy and dry skin. B vitamins helps dull skin, while Vitamin C helps in manufacturing collagen, the basis of connective tissue that holds skin cells together. Vitamin E is an oil that can soften our complexion, and also acts as an antioxidant that protects against cell damage.
We also need vitamin D and if we spend 15 minutes in the sun every day, our skin absorbs the amount we need. However, the sun can also dry the skin and cause damage especially by speeding the aging process. Moisture is important in order to prevent the damage that sun, wind or cold can cause to our skin. In addition to drinking plenty of water, which is vital for the regeneration of cells, we can use a moisturizer.
Regular exercise not only improves our general health but it keeps elasticity of the skin as well. During exercise, our skin takes up more oxygen. Hot and cold showers can also improve skin health. By forcing our skin to relax and contract again, its elasticity will improve and cellulite is reduced.

Acne Diet Link Exposed: Is There an Acne Cure Diet that Works?
Acne diet and the money factor: You can't sell a healthy diet
Ask any medical doctor if there is a connection between diet and acne and almost all of them will claim there is none. Quoting from the Journal of the American Medical Association: "Diet plays no role in acne treatment in most patients...even large amounts of certain foods have not clinically exacerbated acne".
With years of medical education and clinical experience behind these claims, how can we the simple folks who suffer from acne challenge these statements and think otherwise? The answer is: doubt. Doubt, if its stays in the borders of reason, can open many doors otherwise will stay forever shut. Believe it or not, doubt can change reality. Doubt can cure your acne and doubt can even save your life.
Fact is, countless of acne sufferers have reported that their acne seemed to get worse when they consumed certain foods and saw dramatic positive change over their acne condition when they eliminated the same foods from their diet and when certain foods with specific nutritional value were incorporated into their diet.
So why do dermatologists so stubbornly insist that diet does not cause acne? The answer: you can't make a profit promoting a healthy diet. At least not as much money as you could make by selling drugs and over the counters. There is a huge pressure upon doctors coming from the drug and pharmaceutical companies to prescribe expensive medications and lotions that create dependency. The truth is, that your doctor is in a way, a hostage by the trillion dollar drug companies. Did you know that the drug companies, who have no interest in producing something that they cannot control financially, sponsor most medical schools?
The right diet, although not a solution by itself, can, in many cases, dramatically reduce inflammation and even completely clear one's acne (if you're one of the lucky ones who's acne is triggered by allergic response to food). Promoting a clear skin diet simply means less profits for the drug and pharmaceutical companies.
The truth is that conventional medications will never cure your acne, simply because they are pre-designed NOT to fix the internal cause of acne. They are pre-designed to deal with the external symptoms of a disease as they create more and more dependency and more dependency means making more money all at our expense and ignorance.
The Theory That Diet Doesn't Cause Acne Is A Myth
The dogmatic theory that diet does not cause acne and that acne is merely an incurable genetic disorder was based upon two dated researches published in 1969 and 1971 that were aimed at studying the connection between diet and acne.
These studies were the foundation of the 'acne symptoms treatment strategy', meaning, because acne is a genetic disease that cannot be prevented, the only way to deal with acne would be to tackle its symptoms (bacteria, inflammation, puss, redness, greasiness), by applying creams, antibiotics, taking prescription drugs and over the counters.
Surprisingly enough, years after the above studies were published, clinical trials and in depth researches experimenting the acne diet link have found that the studies from 1969 and 1971 had came to the wrong conclusions and were in fact seriously flawed.
Recent studies have clearly found a significant connection between diet and acne. It appears that the wrong diet is now thought to be one of the leading acne contributing factors that can negatively affect hormonal regulation and the natural process of toxic elimination, which can seriously aggravate one's existing acne.
Diet Shapes Who You Are (Including Your Acne)
In the same way that crashing waves shape beach cliffs and just like the wind shapes the canyon walls, slowly and methodically over time, so does eating shapes and effects our physic, our internal system, our physical and mental being, from the organ down to the cellular level.
The idea that an object foreign to our body that is inserted by the food that we eat, has no effect on us, or has no impact on chronic conditions such as acne is absurd. Diet is the primary thing that affects and shapes who we are.
Diet has cumulative effect on our bodies, and that includes our skin condition and acne, which is a manifestation of a chronic internal problem slowly shaped and built by the wrong daily dietary choices over the years.
Acne Diet and The Kitavan Islanders
While in the U.S, more than 80% of teenagers between 16 and 18 have acne and more than 17 million Americans suffer from some form of acne, there is an interesting evidence that native people that live and eat in traditional ways, have significantly lower to no occurrences of acne.
In 2002, Dr. Cordain and his colleagues published a landmark study that examined 300 people living in the Kitavan Islands off the coast of Papua New Guinea that showed that none of the islanders had even one blemish on his or her face. Similar to the Kitavans, no case of acne had been observed when the same experiment had been conducted upon the South American Indians called the Ache, living in a remote jungle in eastern Paraguay.
The natives of Kitavan and the South American Indians had no access to the latest over the counters, topical creams or conventional acne medications and they had no dermatologist to consult with. The only vast difference between them and American or European citizens is their diet.
Acne Diet and Sugar: The Sweet Poison
Aside from the fact that sugar is a 100% pure chemical with zero nutritional value, recent studies have clearly shown a connection between the consumption of sugar and the aggravation of acne.
When you consume any form of refined carbohydrates (white sugar, white flour, white rice) here's what happens: right after you insert that 'sweet poison' into your body, it rapidly spikes up your blood sugar levels. Your body needs to bring those levels down so it secrets a surge of insulin, other male hormones and an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1. The excretion of these hormones overwhelms your liver and your internal system in general. The excess of male hormones encourages the skin to excrete large amounts of sebum oil: The greasy substance that encourages the p.acne bacteria to grow, resulting in the aggravation of your acne.
Acne Diet and Dairy Products: Got Milk? Got Acne
If you thought sugar can aggravate your acne, here's another major nutritional player in the formation of acne: behold the miracles of milk. Milk (all dairy products included) is the most harmful, mucus forming, allergenic and acne aggravating food you can find. Surprised? I thought so. After years of constant brainwashing by the media, who can blame us for thinking milk is good for strong bones and healthy teeth? The truth is: every sip of milk contains 59 different raging hormones, (which trigger the hyper-production of sebum oil resulting in more acne), saturated animal fat, steroid hormones, dead white blood cells, and cow pus in abundance!
Did you know that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows 750 million pus cells in every liter of milk (about two pounds) produced in America? Think about it, the next time you pop a pimple.
Scientific studies already point the finger at milk as one of the worst acne aggravating foods: "As pointed out by Dr. Jerome Fisher, 'About 80 percent of cows that are giving milk are pregnant and are throwing off hormones continuously.' Progesterone breaks down into androgens, which have been implicated as a factor in the development of acne...Dr. Fisher observed that his teenage acne patients improved as soon as the milk drinking stopped."
If there's one element you should remove from your diet in the quest for clear skin make it this one. Not only will you see an immediate improvement over your acne, you'll feel a huge weight has been lifted from your body. If you worry about calcium intake, don't! Milk being acidic forming food creates a leeching effect where calcium is taken from your bones to balance the acidity. Milk actually deprives your body from its calcium resources. Green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds are not only excellent sources of calcium they also have the powers to help you fight your acne symptoms.
Diet is only ONE of the factors that cause acne
Dairy products and sugar are not the only acne aggravating foods. The two above cannot sum up the list of western made acne triggering foods. There are several other foods you should clearly stay away from if you ever wish to clear your acne. The good new is that there are tons of other foods such as essential fatty acids that are not only excellent for your skin, they can actually help you clear your acne, by re-balancing your body and promoting to an acne-free environment.
The right nutrition plays an important part in the complex process of acne formation. When doctors claim there is no link between diet and acne because certain individuals can eat specific foods and get acne while others eat the same foods and don't, these doctors have failed to realize that there are several factors involved in the formation and aggravation of acne and diet is only ONE of them.
The Final Verdict On The Acne Diet Connection:
How To Finally Overcome Your Acne Challenge
Acne is a complex condition that is triggered by several underlying factors. The only way to neutralize your acne condition is to tackle all these acne-contributing factors-holistically.
Since the wrong diet is only one of these acne-triggering factors, in most cases no special diet can cure acne.
There is a however, a tight connection between diet and acne formation. Dietary factors can trigger and aggravate your existing acne. Avoiding the wrong foods such as milk, sugar and hydrogenated oils, and eating cleansing and hormonal balancing foods such as green leafy vegetables and essential fatty acids, can help your skin heal itself from the inside out and dramatically reduce your acne symptoms.
There are also several important dietary principals that you must understand and follow if you ever want to cure your acne for good.
Taking responsibility over your body and adhering to these dietary principals along with taking the necessary steps to tackle all acne contributing factors, holistically, will not only cure your acne permanently and give you the flawless acne free skin you deserve, following these principals will also significantly improve your overall health, mental well-being, look and feel.

Cellex C Betaplex Clear Complexion Mask: A Review

The Cellex C Betaplex Clear Complexion Mask is an herbal face mask formulated to promote silky, smooth complexion. According to the manufacturer of this product, it works by sloughing off dead skin cells and by enhancing the exfoliation process of other skin care formulas used by the consumer.
Cellex recommends the Betaplex face mask to both men and women and to all skin types, except to people with very sensitive skin. The product is said to be soothing to the skin and to the senses, mainly because of its aromatic botanical oil ingredients. The mask is not a maintenance product, but an enhancement formula. Its recommended use is once a week.
"This is a permanent addition to my beauty regimen. The frequency and severity of my breakouts have decreased since I've started using this product."
Excerpt from a customer review on dermstore.com
"I have used this mask for six months, it is excellent for oily/combination skin. It also exfoliates and brightens the complexions. There is no fragrance either so it doesn't irrate my skin."
Excerpt from a customer review on essentialdayspa.com
"I love this product. I am one of those lucky ladies that started breaking out in my 20's. I have used this product for about three months three times per week and my skin looks great! Awesome for acne discoloration and active acne."
Excerpt from a customer review on skinstore.com
"...This mask is really good in clearing away those tiny bumps and blemishes on my face...gently enough for my sensitive skin. I also love the minty feeling when I put on the mask."
Excerpt from a customer review on essentialdayspa.com
"This mask feels so good while it's on! It has that great tingly feeling and works wounders on cleaning out your pores. It was recommended by my dermatologist."
Excerpt from a customer review on lovelyskin.com
We've only seen positive feedback on this product so far. No complaints of adverse effects or allergic reactions. The good thing about it is that it is made mostly from natural ingredients. The recommended use of once a week also makes it cheaper since the whole jar will last longer than the usual skin care product. The manufacturer has also specific warnings and detailed explanations about the facial mask on its Web site which we found very informative. And who among us can resist a minty flavor, be it on our tongue or on our skin?
Highly recommended. Just take note that it is not a skin maintenance product and is only recommended to enhance the effects of other skin care formulas. Reasonably priced since you're supposed to use it only once a week. Herbal ingredients are also a plus. And we do love the packaging!

Can Drinking of Cow’s Milk Trigger Acne Formation?
And so, what causes acne formation?
An oily substance known as sebum is produced within the roots of the minute hairs of the skin. Sometimes, the flow of sebum coupled with hyper-production of skin cells cause the opening of the free-flowing sebum to obstruct. As a consequence, the sebum becomes trapped within the hair follicle roots, and this in turn causes inflammatory as well as non-inflammatory type of acne.
According to this aforementioned study, it has been noted that there is a positive relationship between the intake of cow’s milk and other dairy products with the development of acne vulgaris. This means that the higher the level of milk intake, the more chances of developing acne. Furthermore, in a survey mentioned in this study, it has been mentioned that skimmed milk, even without its nonfat content, is consistently linked with acne. Thus the researchers concluded that acne formation may not be associated with fat intake.
And so, if you really want to keep acne from developing on your face, why not decrease your daily cow’s milk intake. Who knows, it might really do you some good.

Acne Treatments That Don't Work
The majority of acne products don't work. Every month, more and more companies decide selling acne products to acne sufferers is very profitable, so they quickly come up with a product, mix a few chemicals, add a little benzyl peroxide, and label the product as a guaranteed cure to acne.
It's true. Acne treatment companies are making a killing, selling us acne suffers promising products that don't work. More and more of these come up each day hoping to earn a shilling from the pot. Acne suffers are so vulnerable, because we are constantly desperately searching for the latest acne treatment products that work.
So, how do these companies do it? The most common approach is to take Proactive, remake their three-step treatment, and market it as a different brand and label the treatment as "better than Proactive." We've all seen this common marketing scheme. Other companies come along, take a few two dollar vitamins here and there, place them into a bottle, and market the pills as "kills acne inside out," and they sell it for forty dollars. These acne products have very low success rates and have come to dominate the acne treatment market. Affiliates are promoting these rip-off products hoping to earn a share from the million dollar pot - and guess what? These affiliates never suffered from acne in their lifetime and they're recommending us acne treatments.
There are a few e-books (digital "books" emailed to you) out there today which also claim to cure acne. These authors claim that if you detoxicate your body for three days (or in essence, starve yourself for three days), you'll be completely acne free. All you need to do is to eat apples and drink many glasses of water everyday, and you'll be free of acne. This is a very promising statement, but in reality, starving yourself for three days doesn't equal becoming acne free. Your acne will probably slightly diminish, but it will come right back after you start eating again. Acne is somewhat related to diet, but to completely cure acne requires a consistent healthy diet kept over a period of a year. Definitely not three days.
Almost, not all, of the acne products claiming to treat your acne inside out "naturally" don't work. They send you a load of vitamins and foreign herbs which may smell nice, but they are just giving a placebo effect - they make the skin healthy and soft, but do not treat acne. Their success rates are very low, and they treat only the mildest of mild acne situations if they actually work. It's obvious why these treatments do not work - they are vitamins, not acne treatments.
An effective acne treatment is one that:
#1: Keeps pores clean - clogged pores lead to acne
#2: Kills skin bacteria - bacteria causes inflammation in acne, which leads to moderate/severe acne
#3: Solves the problem inside out - no, it's definitely not vitamins and herbs
Thankfully, each year a decent acne treatment does get produced which involved years of research. Electronic acne treatments have taken a leap over acne creams and medications - these devices took years of research to perfect. Zeno and blue light therapy (light bulb) are both highly researched devices that are commonly used to treat acne.
The main purpose of electronic devices out there today is to kill the bacteria that causes inflammation in acne. Bacteria often get trapped in the pore, which provides a favorable location for the bacteria to reproduce. This causes inflammation in the pimple. By killing off the bacteria, this prevents the acne from getting worse, allowing the pimple to quickly heal when the pore is clean again.
Why should you use electronic devices when acne creams "do the same thing?" Benzyl peroxide in acne treatments should kill bacteria, but after applying benzyl peroxide to the face for a few months, the bacteria that causes inflammation in acne start to resist it. By using blue light therapy or Zeno, you can provide an uninhabitable environment for the bacteria, specifically p.-acne, which kills 99.9% of the bacteria within a week. Benzyl peroxide's effectiveness is never this high.
There are a few topicals currently on the market that doesn't use benzyl peroxide to kill the acne causing bacteria. These products are more worthwhile to purchase, and if these acne treatments help treat your acne, they will work for much longer than any benzyl peroxide product out there.
Overall, you just shouldn't try out new acne treatments that nobody has used. There are no new miracle acne treatments being produced, so don't get your hopes up. Be sure to research the chemicals used in acne products, and make sure the chemicals in your acne treatments aren't skin irritants - these lead to further breakouts.

This article will give an honest review of the best adult acne scar medications. Acne affects millions of people around the world and is an incredibly common skin condition that can be triggered by numerous factors which include the use of certain acne scar medications, birth control pills as well as androgen secretion.
More than 90 percent of the population are affected by acne at some point in their lives, particularly their teenage and early years. However, many of these acne sufferers do respond to certain types of adult acne scar medications without too many side effects of complications.
Adult acne scar medications are a popular choice for acne sufferers, regardless of the fact that acne scar medications may need to be used for many months or even years to achieve maximum results.
There is a large range of adult acne scar medications on the market and they are readily available. Some of these adult acne scar medications include herbal acne scar medications and remedies, homeopathic acne scar medications and remedies and the more traditional medications that include chemicals.
Go to http://www.Be-Acne-Free-In-3-Days.com to get FREE instant access to "The Five Basic Secrets For Clearing Your Skin".
As far as herbal adult acne medications and remedies, it is actually quite remarkable that there are potent herbal medications which can effectively help fight acne. Some powerful herbal adult acne medications frequently include the ingredients burdock, chamomile, juniper, bergamot and dandelion root. These herbal adult acne scar medications are a powerful treatment for acne as a result of their ability to greatly enhance the appearance of the skin. Additionally, poker root and echinacea are also considered to be very effective herbal adult acne medications and remedies as a result of their anti-inflammatory properties.
As well as these herbal adult acne scar medications and remedies there are also homeopathic forms of medications that specifically target severe forms of acne. Kali brom is a homeopathic adult acne medication that is frequently used to treat acne sufferers who have blind boils and pustules all over the face, back and neck.
Dermatologists also recommend taking selenium internally as it is also an effective homeopathic remedy for both oily skin, blackheads and whiteheasd. Hepar sulph is also used to treat acne sufferers that usually have painful pustules filled with pus.
Apart from these homeopathic and natural adult acne scar medications there are also more traditional medications containing strong chemicals to help combat acne. These include over the counter medications and adult acne scar medications that require a script. However, some of these are said to have extremely unpleasant side effects. One traditional form of adult acne scar medication is benzoyl peroxide.
This adult acne scar treatment removes dead skin cells and resurfaces the skin. It is also said to prevent new acne blemishes occurring. Unfortunately though, this form of adult acne scar medication can cause excessive skin irritations, dryness and redness which, in turn, can actually make the acne condition worse. Bearing that fact in mind, many dermatologist now recommend that you don't take these traditional forms of adult acne scar medications unless absolutely essential.

Should You Buy Kinerase Cream? (What the Product Is For)
The Kinerase Cream is formulated to provide moisture to the skin and improve its tone. According to the company that produced this skin care product, it is also effective in diminishing the signs of aging and is good for treating sun damaged skin. The product works by helping the skin maintain up to 25% more moisture through the improvement of barrier function to minimize transepidermal water loss. The product is recommended to all skin types and is said to be non-comodogenic.
"This product definitely improves the look and feel of your skin. After two months of use, I have seen fading of slight brown spots and fine lines."
Excerpt from a customer review on dermstore.com
"...The cream goes on smoothly and I have had no negative reaction. Friends tell me that my face is noticeably younger looking, with less wrinkles.
Excerpt from a customer review on amazon.com
"...The cream did not work that well for my dry skin. It seemed almost too light and my skin still seemed dry after using it. It did help reduce the number of fine lines around my eyes and I am very happy about that. For someone with normal skin type I would highly recommend this. But for someone with very dry skin you might want to try something else."
Excerpt from a customer review on skincarecompany.net
"This is by far the best moisturizer I have ever used. Yes, it is expensive but the benefits of this cream far outweigh the cost. It left my skin flawless, smooth and supple...While the cost may defray you from purchasing, keep in mind that a little goes a long way and it does take months to use up a tube."
Excerpt from a customer review on makeupalley.com
"...I bought this cream and immediately loved the way it made my skin feel soft and more firm...Expensive but definitely worth your money. The cream lasts me six months."
Excerpt from a customer review on sephora.com
Majority of the reviews we've analyzed attest to the product's effectiveness, both as a moisturizer and an anti-aging regimen. The most common praise we got was for its ability to diminish skin spots and fine lines that commonly appear as people age. We did get some negative comments, but they are very few and not about any adverse effects. For those few, their complaints are usually about the price (which is deemed too steep) or lack of effect as a moisturizer. But all in all, particularly as an anti-aging product, Kinerase has been given the thumbs up by most users.
We recommend this product despite some complaints about the price. After all, if you use a cheaper but less effective product, you will probably spend more since you will likely try another one and ditch the one you first purchased - effectively flushing away the few dollars you've spent on it.
Kinerase is a brand manufactured by Aliso Viejo, California-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, a pharmaceutical company that develops and markets prescription and nonprescription pharmaceutical products.

Free Severe Acne Tips - Free Tips Reveal Severe Acne Remedies And Treatments That Work
A severe acne condition can affect all facets of an individual's life. This article will give free severe acne tips plus reveal severe acne remedies and treatments for people of all ages.
The onset of severe acne can lower a person's self-esteem severely and also be the cause of much embarrassment and humiliation. Severe acne is mainly characterized by severe inflammation, deep pus filled cysts and a lot of damage to the skin, whether it be the face or back. As a result of severe acne, it can best be treated with treatments and remedies which can on occasion be undertaken for even a number of years.
There are three acne scar classifications. These classifications include rolling, boxcar and ice pick. As the name suggest, ice pick acne scars are sharp and very thin. The skin actually takes on the unattractive appearance of looking like it has been sliced with a knife. Ice pick acne scars are very deep scars and extent into the deeper layers of the skin.
The next classification of acne scars is boxcar acne scars. These differ from ice pick scars as they are round pits. This type of acne scar has been shown to get good results from laser resurfacing and dermabrasion procedures.
The final classification of acne scars are rolling acne scars. These type of acne scars are usually as a result of folds in the skin and can usually be treated by breaking up the bands that create the skin fold in the first place. These acne scars are frequently treated by an incision in the skin
There are a number of remedies for severe acne available on the market. These severe acne remedies include prescription medications and other more expensive treatment methods. Below is a rough guide of some of the more well-known remedies and treatments for people with severe acne that are recommended by doctors and dermatologists.
Severe Acne Remedy Number 1 - Draining and Surgical Excision. This acne remedy is believed to be one of the best available, though of course it is a costly alternative. This severe acne remedy came about when dermatologist realized that large cysts weren't responding to more general acne treatments. This form of severe acne treatment is said to be able to eliminate acne cysts altogether. Another term for this treatment is "acne surgery". This surgical acne treatment is conducted by highly trained dermatologist under very sterile conditions. However, as I have already stated, not every individual would be able to afford this treatment option.
Severe Acne Remedy Number 2 - Another well recognised and highly regarded treatment for severe acne is isotretinoin. Isotretinoin is a drug used for severe acne conditions. It comes in pill form and is a synthetic retinoid. The recommended dosage for this acne remedy is once or twice every day for up to a 20 week period. It is thought to be one of the most effective remedies for severe acne conditions as it is believed to be the only remedy for severe acne that actually attacks all four factors of acne which include inflammation of the skin, blocked skin pores, oil production and P. acnes.

Acne Scar Cure - Discover The Best Acne Cure & Remedy For Cystic Acne That Really Works
Acne not only has a debilitating affect on the skin of a person with acne but also has a detrimental affect on each person's self-esteem. As a matter of fact, most acne sufferers are frequently embarrassed and depressed by their acne condition.
It is really not a surprise that many acne patients are on the look out for an acne scar cure.
Is there really an acne scar cure?
Studies have been performed for a long period of time looking for the best, ultimate cure for acne. It's only relatively recently that more acne cures have come on the market. There are in fact a large range of acne cures currently on the market at a price that many people can actually afford.
Of course, these acne scar cures vary for each individual. Everyone's cystic acne scar is different and every acne scar cure will affect each acne condition differently.
One of the common cystic acne scar cures are available over the counter as cleansers, pimple creams, moisturizers and toners. These cystic acne scar cures are available without prescription and have been proven to have an impact on whiteheads and blackheads. Sometimes new skin develops as s result of skin peeling off.
On the other side of the coin are prescription only cystic acne scar cures. These acne scar cures usually assist in the fight against acne by attacking the bacteria that cause acne in the first place. Nonetheless, there are some occasions that acne may actually start to resist these cystic acne scar cures and make them useless.

It is also worth remakaring that certain antibiotics also have unpleasant side effects that need to be borne in mind before deciding to try one.
There are also oral antibiotics. Of course, the downside of this is that as these antibiotics are taken by mouth they can actually have an impact on your entire body and can cause serious side effects which include nausea and feeling dizzy.
Additionally there are some Vitamin A acne scar cures that can also assist in the prevention of cells in the skin clumping together. Nonetheless, just like the other acne skin cures mentioned earlier, there can also be very unpleasant side effects including, but not limited to skin irritations, dryness, redness and even birth defects.

Weleda Skin Food: Does It Really Nourish Dry and Rough Skin?
The Weleda Skin Food cream, like other personal care products from Weleda, is made from natural ingredients and is said to be not just a skin care product but also something that can stimulate and soothe the senses with its smell.
"I originally bought this moisturizer for my skin...PLEASE do not apply this to your face if you are acne prone or have oily skin. It leaves an oily residue on your face after using it...definitely was not good for the face. But it DOES work well for anywhere but the face."
Excerpt from a customer review on makeupalley.com
"...I thought it was a bit expensive, but after using, it was so worth it and I will keep buying it. Yes it does feel oily when you apply, but my skin seems to absorb it pretty well after only a few minutes."
Excerpt from a customer review on amazon.com
"I like this product however I wish the scent were better...That being said, the product is nice overall. It has a pleasant, emolliant texture. I like it on the bottoms of my dry feet...may buy it again, assuming I can continue to tolerate the smell which I don't really like that much!"
Excerpt from a customer review on drugstore.com
"Pros: super-rich moisturizer for face and body; concentrated; natural ingredients; minimal packaging. Cons: strong citrus-herbal scent could be a turn-off; looks and feels a little greasy initially."
Excerpt from a customer review on epinons.com
"...I bought this to try as a facial moisturizer, bad idea...it was good for feet and elbows but still felt heavy on other areas...the citrus smell is completely over the top and overwhelming."
Excerpt from a customer review on makeupalley.com
Whew! Quite a lot of comments for this product! Seems like a lot of consumers have tried this one. Let's break down what's good and what's bad about it, shall we?
Pros: very effective on areas like the hands, elbows, feet and other parts of the body that are prone to dryness; made from natural ingredients
Cons: the smell has been described from overwhelming to over the top to simply awful; feels greasy and heavy to some; not for the face
First, the manufacturer has not recommended the product as a facial cream, so we think that it's not their fault if some have tried it on their faces and found that it was not effective. The product has been praised for its effectiveness in helping dry areas of the body, so we think that merits a plus since the product is designed for that anyway. The smell? From what we've gathered, not a lot of people like strong-smelling skin care products. And this is the area where we have to deduct some points. We recommend it only for body-use and for those who would use it at night, in the privacy of their homes and to those who sleep alone.

Get Control of Your Acne
There are many varieties of acne and many different treatment plans. Technically called acne vulgaris, this skin disease affects millions of Americans annually. Nearly 85% of people develop acne at some time between the ages of 12-25 years.
Almost everyone suffers from outbreaks of pimples at some point in life, making acne one of the most common skin disorders. Understanding the facts about acne may be the first step towards finding a successful acne treatment and controlling your acne.
Many teenagers outgrow their acne, but it is common for some women to need treatment into their late thirties.
What Causes Acne?
No one knows for sure exactly what causes acne, or why it usually begins in adolescence. Since the medical knowledge about acne is still relatively small, many misconceptions and rumors about what causes acne exists. No one factor causes acne.
Acne lesions develop in the oil-producing structures of the skin called pilosebaceous follicles. Oil secretions build up beneath the blocked pore, providing a perfect environment for the skin bacteria Propionibacterium acnes to multiply uncontrolled. For unknown reasons skin cells of acne patients stick together in the pore (this may be made worse by grease, pomades, makeup, etc.).
Deeper still acne causes cysts which are the worst form of acne and carry the possibility of permanent scarring. Genetics also play a role in the development of acne and thus there is a tendency for the skin disease to run in families.
There are other skin disorders that may resemble acne, but are unrelated.
Acne and Bacteria
Pimples are often caused by Propionebacterium acnes, a common bacterium on the skin that feeds on sebum. The bacteria cause the surrounding tissues to become inflamed and acne is formed. The acne bacteria feeds off this mixture which leads to inflamed conditions.
Acne-causing bacteria are anaerobic, meaning they cannot survive in an oxygenated environment. Bacteria called Corynebacterium acnes, which cause skin fats to break down into irritating chemicals, can also directly contribute to an outbreak.
Acne in Teenagers
Due to the hormonal changes they experience, teenagers are more likely to develop acne. Most teens who develop acne have the milder form, called non- inflammatory acne. Hormonal disorders can complicate acne in girls.
If are a teenager and you have acne, you have a lot of company. About 80 percent of all teenagers develop acne, but the disease may also start as late as age 25 or 30, particularly in women.
Acne in Adults
Just when you thought your "bad skin" days were over, adult acne strikes. Just when you've successfully navigated the ravages of adolescence on your skin, you wake up and find acne.
There are various causes of adult acne. The new trend in medical circles is to discuss acne as a hormonal imbalance. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy or menstrual periods can cause or contribute to acne. Also, hormonal changes related to starting or stopping birth control pills can also cause acne. Excess emotional strain on the body can contribute to hormonal changes that have been known to cause acne as well.
Adult acne is different from teenage acne and therefore your treatment approach should be different.
Severe Acne
Boys have more severe acne and develop it more often than girls. Severe acne can cause scars which will never disappear. All but the most severe grades of acne are controllable although not curable. The most severe type of acne consists of cysts (closed sacs) and nodules (hard swellings).
Vigorous treatment of more severe types of acne can help prevent facial scarring.
Treatment of Acne
There is a myriad of products sold for the treatment of acne, many of them without any scientifically proven effects.
The primary products used to treat acne are a pharmaceutical grade glycolic acid solution and a topical antibiotic. By applying a chemical solution to the skin, known as a chemical peel, mild scarring and certain types of acne may be treated.
Non-prescription medications are available over the counter to treat mild forms of acne. Topical antibiotics are commonly used in the treatment of acne and are often prescribed along with a retinoid or benzoyl peroxide. Topical retinoids are used in the treatment of both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne.
The cost and duration of acne treatment with topical applications and oral antibiotics make standard therapy far from ideal. This is why researchers have been studying the effects of specific peak wavelengths of light in the treatment of acne, with very successful results.
Acne Medications
Benzoyl peroxide inhibits the bacteria that cause acne. As with other acne medications, overexposure to extreme wind or cold or use of irritating skin care products may aggravate the skin.
Most acne medications only mask the symptoms of acne and do nothing to stop the real cause of acne. There are even herbal based acne medications, such as tea tree oil.
Today with proper treatment, acne can usually be dealt with successfully and controlled before it becomes totally unsightly. If a vigorous approach of study and application is made, the effects of acne can be greatly reduced and in some cases overcome entirely.

Homemade Acne Treatment
Make a homemade acne treatment using natural ingredients that focus on dealing with the causes of acne, most of which center around the toxins we feed and apply to our bodies. Things like eating processed and sugar-laden foods, drinking alcohol, breathing contaminated air, using chemical-rich skin products and taking drugs that combine to create an overabundance of toxins our bodies cannot efficiently process. The end result? Acne and poor skin health!
The majority of commercial acne products burn or will completely dry out your skin. Homemade acne treatments are natural inexpensive and do not have the potentially harmful side effects that some acne medications and products have.
You can get back to basics and you can be totally confident about what ingredients go into your home made natural acne remedies.

Let's Talk about Acne - Learn the Truth and Myths About Acne
Having great looking skin doesn't stop at the ladies, a massive number of males are very interested in making the most of them-selves and it all starts with the skin.
Never has your appearance been more important than at this time. We judge people within seconds of seeing them. We have an opinion of a person who is covered in spots; we come to our own conclusions rightly or wrongly if we see someone who has eczema or dry flaky skin. If someone is unshaven, dirty, wears heavy dark makeup, has lank greasy hair, has acne, like it or not we make instant decisions on how we look. It also affects our mood and behaviour.
As there are three types of acne past, present and future signs of acne you need to first establish which type are YOU
I will prove to you in a matter of moments why you can trust me to expose you to the whole truth AND Myths about the world of acne.
So what is Acne?
Acne is an inflammatory skin condition that occurs when sebum (oil) and dead skin cells block the pore opening, causing sebum to build up inside the pore. Although acne is a common skin condition, if left untreated it can lead to severe inflammation and permanent scarring.
Who is affected by Acne?
Acne affects people regardless of age, gender, or race. More than 80 % of people suffer from acne at some point in their lives, many into adulthood. Did you know 20% of all adults suffer with active acne? and of the 85% of young adults (between ages 12 and 24) that suffer from acne, 25% will have permanent scars ranging from mild to severe.
Knowledge is POWER!! To be able to rid ourselves of ACNE we first must need to know what it is
Learn about the Acne Life Cycle
Stage One: Clogged Pores
o Each pore in your skin is essentially a hair follicle lined by cells from the epidermis (the upper most layer of the skin). The hair follicle is connected to multi- lobed sebaceous glands (oil producing glands).
o Sebaceous glands produce sebum, a natural substance that lubricates the hair and provides essential fatty acids and lipids that are necessary to maintain the skin's protective moisture barrier.
o As part of the skin's healthy processes, cells that line the pore are continuously shed.
o They mix with sebum and flow out of the pore onto the surface of the skin.
o If the sebaceous glands produce too much oil, generally in response to hormones, the mixture of dead skin cells and sebum form a plug, blocking the pore opening.
Stage Two: Bacteria
o Dead skin cells lining the pore continue to be shed and oil is still produced by the sebaceous glands, both of which build up behind the plug.
o The accumulated mixture of sebum and dead cells attracts the bacteria found naturally in the skin (known as P.acnes or propionibacterium acnes), which feeds on oil and multiplies rapidly inside the pore.
Stage Three: Inflammation
The bacteria overgrowth triggers the body's natural inflammatory immune response: white blood cells to flood the area. This causes swelling and redness in the region, which can ultimately lead to the discoloration and scarring associated with acne.
Which Type are You?
There are many types of acne breakouts, all of which result when oil and dead skin build up and clog the pore opening. Blackheads, whiteheads, pustules (or nodules), and cysts are the four most common types of acne breakouts.
Blackheads (or open comedones) are clogged pores that are only partially plugged, allowing some of the trapped sebum and oil to escape the pore. The sebum within the hair follicle solidifies. The dark colour associated with blackheads is due to the oxidization of sebum and melanin in the dead skin cells when they come into contact with the air. Blackheads are generally not inflamed or infected with bacteria and do not cause scaring.
Whiteheads (or Closed comedones) are the result of completely clogged pores. Below the skin, excess oil and dead skin cells fill the pore and begin to create a small whitish bump. Limited bacterial growth and a low grade immune response create the white pus associated with whiteheads. They are not highly inflamed and do not generally cause scarring.
Pustules (or nodules) are red, inflamed acne breakouts that occur when clogged pores become infected with bacteria (P.acnes). A pustule is similar to a whitehead, but is highly inflamed and appears as a red bump with a white or yellow centre. Because of the inflammation and swelling, pustules cause the distinctive discolouration associated with acne and may also cause scarring.
Cysts are severely inflamed and pus-filled acne lesions that occur when the contents of a clogged pore seep into the dermis (lower layer of the skin). The deep inflammation and infection cause a severe immune response: white blood cells flood the area, which then becomes swollen and sore. This results in the formation of a cyst. Acne cysts are painful and often cause scarring. The white blood cells can overreact and damage the pore and surrounding area. After the cyst heals, a permanent scar may remain.
OK, So All This Information Is All Well and Good But, How Do We Treat ACNE!!
Because acne can begin 2 - 3 weeks before blemishes are visible on your skin, the secret to controlling acne is prevention. Prevention includes eating a balanced diet, exercising and reducing stress, as well as cleansing with a proper treatment system.
Please Do Not Be Mislead Acne can take anywhere Between 8 - 12 weeks to treat. However, most people can see a difference very quickly.
When treating acne topically, dermatologists recommend a three pronged approach.
o Unclog pores and keep them clear.
o Control oil, which helps to limit bacterial growth
o Reduce inflammation.
The skin takes time to adjust to a new system. During this time, breakouts may appear worse before they get better; this is NOT uncommon as pre-existing blemishes are beginning to surface. Improvements should be visible within a few weeks and continue throughout the next eight to twelve weeks.
MOST SYSTEMS DO NOT MATCH THESE CRITERIA
We have discussed the Truth about Acne now the interesting bit .... the myths!!
ACNE MYTHS
Myth#1: Scrub face clean to treat acne!
Vigorous washing and scrubbing can actually irritate the skin and make acne worse. The best approach to good hygiene and treating acne is to gently wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser, pat dry and use an appropriate acne treatment.
Myth#2: You have to let acne run its course!
The truth is acne can be cleared up! Using a high quality, efficacious acne treatment system can address the stages of acne: clogged pores, bacteria and inflammation.
Myth#3: Acne is just a cosmetic condition!
While acne poses no serious threat to one's health, it does affect the way people look and can affect the way people feel about themselves. Acne should be taken seriously and treated to prevent permanent physical scarring.
Myth #4: Acne is not related to diet!
While thus far science has not found a solid connection between diet and acne, research is being revisited in this area. Some studies indicate a relationship between acne and high-glycemic foods such as sodas, pastries and breads. Other studies have looked at the impact of dairy-rich diets on skin health. Many people insist certain foods affect their acne. When controlling acne, eating a balanced diet is always a good idea.
Myth#5: There is no correlation between stress and acne!
Acne not only causes significant stress, but is also made worse by stress. in a recent study, Standford University students with acne were analyzed before and after exams. The study showed the students' acne worsened when under pre-exam stress. When you're under stress, your body produces stress hormones such as cortisol, which stimulate an over production of oil in the skin. When this excess oil mixes with dead skin cells, it promotes bacterial growth and can cause acne to develop or become worse. This can, in turn, lead to ore stress, plunging you into a Stress-acne cycle.
You now understand the Facts about Acne - the Truth and the myths
Take a good long look at your skin in the mirror - what do you see? Do you like the image? Are you projecting the right image for who you are? How does your skin measure up? Is it clear, glowing with health, a joy to look at? Or like so many people are you suffering with spots, blemishes, dark circles with a generally tired thick complexion. If one or all of these best describes your looks don't worry the good news is, that all can change within 30 days.
Why 30 days?
This is the average time it takes for new cells to rise to the surface of your skin. As that happens the old cells on the surface fall off, so you can technically say you are a completely different person every 30 days!
Over the next few pages I will discuss various methods that will guarantee your skin to be beautiful, blemish free, a joy to look at, no matter what nationality you happen to be or how long you have been suffering with problem skin.
First though you need to know a little about the skin.
Well it's the largest organ of the body and probably the most abused. It is made up of layers - the epidermis, dermis and the subcutaneous layers. Skin consists of hair follicles, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, melanins and connective tissue. Proper care is essential for normal skin functions. You see the skin wasn't designed to have problems it's construction is actually designed to combat most conditions. In our modern days though it does need a little help and I will discuss this later, but for now nature made sure that our skin can fight infections and bacteria's so most common issues we have is because our skin is unable to work at it's optimal level. As I mentioned on average the new skin cells rise to the surface approx. 30 days. It has a high concentration of water and needs the pores open to enable the skin to breathe.
Acne:
As you are probably aware our skin secretes an oil called sebum, which is naturally produced. Sebum is the chemical that helps to keep the skin at the correct levels of pH to enable the skin to fight bacteria and infections. You see we were not designed to suffer with spots, eczema, dry skin, etc., without this correction your skin will not be able to perform at it optimal level.
Warning:
If you have suffered from acne for a while you will know that as soon as you find a new product that promises clear skin, you use it for a day or so and it looks like it is working only to discover that it doesn't. This is because your skin is a very clever organ; it adjusts to whatever you do to it very quickly. The biggest misconception is that you need to buy a product either soap or cleanser that is so harsh it strips ALL the oils from the skin. This simply encourages the skin to produce more oil, you then think you need to use more of the harsh product and the skin produces even more oils, a vicious circle. Break this cycle NOW.
Stop using everything you have tried or are thinking of trying. For a couple of days leave your skin, allow it to "rest". Simply rinse with warm water but no products. Try not to get your hair products on your face; these too can be so harsh that the skin can react to them.
Once your skin has rested then I recommend a product that has absolutely NO bad ingredients, this isn't as easy as it may seem as many companies will promote the good ingredients and not mention the bad fillers used. Even the most well respected companies within the industry use these bad ingredients; price also is not an indicator of quality. With these fillers it doesn't matter how much good natural ingredients are used they will not work as the fillers will block the pores preventing them from being effective. Do not mix different company products ie a cleanser from Clarins, toner from body shop and moisturiser from Clinique this again is damaging your skin. Every company works on a different method some use exfoliation to get some results, some use "sealing in" the moisture. Keep to one product line.
If you are in any doubt then please feel free to email me on sarah@dermassists.com and I will be happy to give you a personal consultation. I have researched for many years companies that will provide only the good and none of the bad.
Getting back to acne, to restore your skin to it youthful, glowing and healthy state I recommend the following five point daily regime:-
Cleanse:
This is essential to clear the pores and remove toxins from the skin. Do not use anything with soap, coal tar or similar harsh cleansing agents, these damage the skin structure and creates further problems.
Exfoliate:
Be careful too much exfoliating and this will damage the skin. Use a mild, exfoliant preferably with marine diatoms, which will not damage the skin. Too many companies including the large, well-respected companies work with exfoliating the skin with very harsh ingredients. This is not desirable as it strips the skin of the sebum making the skin go to work on creating more.
Re - balance or Tone:
I have many people telling me even now, that the pores are closed with toners. This is not true, pores cannot be closed, they can be blocked but not closed. It is with the pores that the skin breathes if the pores are closed or blocked then the skin is in trouble and dies. Toners were created for two reasons, one was to firstly remove the oil and petroleum left on the skin from traditional cleansers and secondly to retract the pores after the debris had been removed. Every hour of every day our skin is exposed to pollutants and dirt, this is held within the pores stretching them, if the pores are not cleansed thoroughly and then helped to retract to their original size, the result is very large exposed pores. Most toners have harsh alcohols, which again will cause further problems; natural Witch Hazel will retract the pores and restore the pH levels of the skin making the skin work at its optimal levels. This is one of the most important products your skin needs but it can be the most damaging if using the wrong product.
Hydrate:
A good hydrating product can work wonders for scar tissue, and will assist the skin in the healing process and hydrate the skin. The side effects of this product are that it assists the elastin and collagen to perform better, hence younger skin!
Moisturise:
Use only moisturisers with humectants and with an SPF, humectants are water magnets, which will attract the moisture from the air - totally different from the "sealing in" process. Technology has moved so much within the skin care products and using oils and petroleum by products is such an old method to use, that now we know does not work.
I have found that many companies claim to have a successful regime. Time and time again they will promote one or two good ingredients only to find that the bulk of the products are useless and in many cases damaging to the skin.
The Do's and don't on Good Skin Care.
Do: Use high quality ingredients This does not mean the dearest
Do: Keep to a simply regime
Do: Use the right products for your skin type
Do: Remember your skin will change, whether you move to a different location or if you stop or start smoking. Treat your skin accordingly.
Do: Cleanse, Tone, Hydrate and moisturise twice a day.
Don't: Mix different company's products
Don't: Use products with cheap bulking agents such as petroleum by products, oils, coal tar, harsh alcohol etc.,
Don't: Tear at the skin this will create lines and wrinkles too early.

Weleda Skin Care with the Wild Rose Body Oil: An Evaluation
The Wild Rose is said to be free of artificial additives, including fragrance. The flowery smell, according to Weleda, is made from natural essential oils. Aside from its skin-revitalizing capability, the Wild Rose Oil is also marketed as a product that harmonizes the senses with its scent.
"...not only does it smell great and make my skin so soft, but it also helps me sleep - I swear. When I have a lot of stress in my day, this oil just relaxes me and helps me calm down."
Excerpt from a customer review on buzzillions.com
"I thought this oil smelled really awful, and I was surprised that it cost more than many of the other oils I've tried."
From a customer review on buzzillions.com
"This works so wonderfully when my skin is feeling dry or itchy. Use it right after you get out of the shower and massage it into your skin. It does not stay greasy like you might think a pure oil would. The rose scent is pure and amazing."
Excerpt from a customer review on amazon.com
"I absolutely love this body oil. I use it every day on my entire body and my dry, sensitive skin has never been better. The smell is lovely. It smells just like a REAL rose, not super sweet or fake like some may be expecting."

We gathered mixed reviews on this one. The ability of this body oil in keeping the skin smooth is not in question since we didn't find any review complaining about adverse effects of lack of effect. The complaints we've gathered are about the smell! A bit weird since most positive ratings have praised its effectiveness and its SMELL. Well, it seems like some would love its smell, while some would dislike it. It only goes to show that each individual has his or her own scent preference. Something to do with personality, perhaps?
We recommend it because it's efficacy was never in question. However, the smell might work or might not work for you; so we recommend sniffing the contents first before purchasing it. If you fell in love with the scent, then by all means buy it. It does help dry skin from what we've gathered.

Update on SPF and Spot Treatment
Spot Treatment: The last group of testers gave me mixed feedback. We have good news and bad news again. The good news it that most people are saying this is a spot treatment which actually works. The bad news is that it’s not working well when it is applied before benzoyl peroxide. When people put it on before BP it can become very slightly curdled. So I went back into the lab this week and made a few more iterations in all different types of bases: creamier, more water-y, and more serum-esque, in an effort to remedy this. I kept all of the important active ingredients in there. In the meantime, if you want a spot treatment, the AHA works really well for me and lots of people on Acne.org. Just be certain to catch a zit at the very earliest stages.

The response to this product is mostly positive. Although we did find some complaints, they are very few compared with the positive feedbacks. The Acnezine solution is made from natural ingredients, which makes it a relatively safe bet. The manufacturer did say that the product is for mild to moderate acne and has never recommended it for severe acne.
We recommend it for mild to moderate acne. The natural ingredients are a plus, and so is the clear instruction from the manufacturer that it is for mild to moderate acne and not for cystic and severe ones.

What Cellex C Reviews Are Saying About Hydra 5 B-Complex
The manufacturer of the product has stated that the gel contains a high percentage of hyaluronic acid which has been found to be the body's natural moisturizer. It is recommended to all types of skin and can be used once or twice a day.
"I have very dry skin but also get occasional breakouts so I love the fact that not only is the Hydra 5 super hydrating but also oil-free. This product really caters to my skin type and it has never looked better."
Excerpt from a customer review on spalook.com
"This product is by far one of the most effective I have tried...In such a short period of time, 2 weeks or so, I saw a significant change in my skin's hydration and texture...If you need HYDRATION, this is it.
Excerpt from a customer review on sephora.com
"Like others, I had been using the Cellex C without the Hydra B. It makes a massive difference. In just two weeks, my skin looks amazingly younger and smoother."
Excerpt from a customer review on skinstore.com
"I have used this gel product for a number of years and find that, among the various gels on the market, this one works best for me. It has a soothing feel and follow up moisturizer can be applied easily on top of it."
Excerpt from a customer review on dermstore.com
The product is another of Cellex-C that has received rave reviews. Most consumers who have used it have claimed that it has made their moisturizers more effective and their skin better-looking. The product's focus - better absorption of vitamin C and moisture - is an innovative way to help give consumers a better chance at a healthier skin. The manufacturer of the Hydra gel has been clear enough in their claims that the product is not to be used on its own and that a moisturizer is needed for it to work.
Pretty good product based on majority of consumer evaluations. And the manufacturer's explanation for its use and for what it can and cannot do is clear enough so as not to deceive any potential buyer.
The Cellex-C Hydra 5 B-Complex is manufactured by Cellex-C International Inc. of Denver, Colorado
Hyaluronic acid, pantothenic acid

The Truth About Acne Skin Care
Let's face it, you are engaged in an ongoing battle when you are afflicted with acne. While acne treatments for a mild case of acne are usually successful, moderate acne is a greater problem. Even dermatologists cannot cure a severe case of acne but can only provide an acne treatment regimen.
However, you can support your acne treatment efforts with proper acne skin care in order to reduce the recurrence of acne flare-ups and not aggravate existing acne.
Knowing What You're Doing
One of the first pieces of advice is to make sure that you understand and follow the directions for any acne remedy that you are using. If you are taking a prescription acne medicine, read the patient leaflet that accompanies the medication carefully. Typically for moderate to severe acne a dermatologist may prescribe several acne medicines, each with its own treatment protocol and directions.
In order to achieve the acne free skin that you desire, it is important to use all the acne treatments properly and in the correct order. Consider bringing a tablet of paper, a pen, and a friend or relative with you to your appointment with your dermatologist. Simply jot down some notes about the order and time of day for applying each acne medicine and what its purpose is.
Remember, just because the acne clears with the use of your acne medicines doesn't necessarily mean that you have succeeded in curing acne. Most people with moderate to severe acne must continue to use their acne medicine long-term to prevent any recurrence of their acne problem. Using the acne treatments properly should translate to clear skin and freedom from acne scars.
What About Over-the-Counter Remedies?
Besides using medications prescribed by a doctor, there are a large number of products on the market labeled as skin cleansers, facial cleansers, pore cleansers, and facial pore cleaners that can be used in curing acne.
When cleansing skin that is afflicted with acne, an important point to remember is not to scrub the skin; never scrub your face with a washcloth. It is a misconception that acne is caused by dirt clogging the pores of the skin. You don't scrub away the offending dirt; you can't scrub away the offensive acne and achieve acne free skin.
Over-washing or scrubbing skin afflicted with acne only serves to aggravate the condition. Rather use only a gentle skin cleanser, lukewarm water, and a gentle motion with your fingertips as your primary acne skin care regime. When you wash your face with your hands, be sure to first thoroughly wash your hands.
Do Natural Treatments Really Work?
Look for gentle cleansers that are sold as acne solutions. When you're evaluating skin cleansers for acne, include natural acne treatments in your search as well. For example, a soap made from Echinacea and other herbal ingredients is an effective antibiotic facial cleanser that helps fight acne and restore clear skin. Tea tree oil also has known antibiotic properties and serves as a mild anesthetic that will soothe the irritated skin.
Oily skin is implicated as a one of the causes of acne. It doesn't necessarily make sense to use a moisturizer on oily skin as a means of achieving clear skin. But many of the acne treatments, whether they are prescribed or available as over-the-counter products, have a tendency to irritate the skin while curing acne.
A moisturizer is a boost to irritated skin and keeps skin from becoming overly dry due to the acne treatments that have been applied. Look for a moisturizer with the following properties:
- oil-free
- won't clog pores (non-comodogenic)
- containing a sun-screen
Besides a great desire to just scrub away the acne, many people try to remove the acne pimples by hand as a way to get clear skin. People who are afflicted with acne should avoid touching their face except to gently wash it with mild cleanser as already discussed.
By trying to remove pimples by hand you run the risk of creating acne scars that will last for a lifetime. Instead, have patience and rely on your prescription or over-the-counter acne treatment to work. Acne remedies usually take 6 to 8 weeks before curing acne.
For male acne sufferers, the daily ritual of shaving can be a problem. One acne sufferer has recommended the Gillette Sensor Excel as a gentle and effective razor to use. Other males prefer to try an electric razor. The advice is to shave delicately to avoid nicking the skin and to shave only as often as necessary. Finding a moisturizing shave gel may be one way to enhance your acne skin care program.
Female acne sufferers have their unique problems too, in finding the right cosmetic products to use. Females who are accustomed to using a foundation product may find that the foundation is difficult to apply smoothly if the facial skin becomes irritated due to the acne treatments being applied.
You may have to abandon the use of some cosmetics during the acne treatment period. Be sure to select only oil-free cosmetics and ones that are labeled as non-comodogenic (won't clog pores) to use on your road to clear skin.
Proper acne skin care is a necessary addition to your arsenal for fighting your battle with acne and achieving clear skin once again.

To Buy or Not to Buy Cellex C Sea Silk Oil-Free Moisturizer
According to the producer of the product, Sea Silk helps make the skin supple and soft without making it shiny. The moisturizer is made from sea botanical extracts and is said to work best when used in conjunction with Cellex-C's Serum or Hydra 5 B-Complex. The product is suitable for both men and women.
"Never tried anything as moisturizing and oil-free as the seasilk. Have been using for more than 1 year. Will never switch to another product."

"It is wonderful, an oil free product that really makes skin silky soft and looks radiant. Wish it came in a bigger size."
Excerpt from a customer review on skinstore.com
"...I use it as a night time moisturizer since it doesn't contain SPF. When I wake up, my skin is so soft and never bothered by the product...I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin looking for a good moisturizer!"
Excerpt from a customer review on amazon.com
"I have been using this moisturizer about 3 yrs. I just love it. It is not oily yet very moist on my skin...the only thing is cellex-c products are too expensive."
Excerpt from a customer review on spalook.com
"Cellex-C Sea Silk Moisturizer is amazing and worth its weight in gold!...It hydrates my skin while somehow making it less oily (no kidding!)...the texture is like a rich, smooth velvet and the delicate, soft scent is amazing. Everything about this moisturizer justifies its price."
Excerpt from a consumer review on skincarerx.com
This product has received rave reviews. We did encounter a negative feedback, with the user complaining about allergic reaction to the product. However, it was just one complaint among the many praises that it could probably be an isolated case. However, we still recommend consulting a dermatologist before purchasing the Sea Silk moisturizer. All in all, we believe that the product is an effective, high quality option, although a bit expensive. There are other moisturizing products available, after all, that have received high consumer ratings and are not as expensive. The packaging of Cellex-C products, though, are really quite neat.
Recommended. But you might want to explore other moisturizers that are cheaper. In terms of effectiveness, though, we give this one a thumbs up.
The Cellex-C Sea Silk Oil-Free Moisturizer is manufactured by Cellex-C International Inc. of Denver, Colorado
Omega 3, Marine moisturizing factor, Seasilk, Jojoba esters, Sodium hyaluronate, Plankton extract, Sea buckthorn extract, Watercress extract, Marine algae and seaweed extract, DMEA complex, Seaweed biopeptides
Cleanse face and apply toner. Apply the moisturizer. If you're using Hydra 5 B-Complex or Cellex-C Serum, apply the moisturizer after these other products. Use sunscreen if going out into the sun

Which are the Best Acne Treatments? It Depends
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's not as simple as just listing the best acne treatments. That's not because there's no good acne treatments available, quite the opposite in fact, it's just that there's a few steps to take before deciding which are the best acne treatments for your acne.
Not everyone has the same acne problem and so the best acne cures for one person may not be the best acne cures for another. Acne attacks different people differently. For some, it's just a mild attack which will be managed quite satisfactorily with some simple facial cleansing routines. No more required. No need to search out any acne treatments, certainly no need to investigate the best acne treatments.
For others acne can be a serious problem indeed. Acne can be serious enough to produce scars which, if left untreated, can be emotionally and psychologically distressing. These people certainly need active acne intervention, and the best acne treatments available.
How do you know which category you are in? Consult your doctor. It's not always easy to know whether your acne is a simple passing phase which can be easily controlled, or something which needs serious intervention before it's too late. And your doctor will tell you the best acne treatments for your individual needs. The best acne treatments for YOU.
And not all acne medications work the same way for everybody. The best acne medications for some people may not work at all for others. This is just the way it is, that's not restricted to acne medications.
So, often, finding the best acne treatments can be a difficult process. The most highly recommended treatment may not work at all for you, but work well with your best friend. That's life, you need to move on to try another one until you find the best acne medication that works for you.
And remember that acne isn't a condition that is cured by a simple application of an acne medication. Acne isn't cured, it's controlled, it's managed. Acne decides for itself when it is finished. Up to then you need to be active in managing it. Once you body says "enough" then it's over. So the best acne treatments are treatments which need to be continued as necessary. Don't expect to just apply a treatment and "hey presto" no more acne. Sorry, it's not that simple.
And adult acne? Which are the best treatments for adult acne? Same answer. It depends. The best treatments for adult acne are the same as the best acne treatments for teenagers. They are the treatments that work for you. After you have seen your doctor, had your acne checked out, tried one or more until you find the one that works, and then settled on that one. Then you've found YOUR best acne cure.
And, one final suggestion, don't buy a suggested acne cure, apply it for a week and expect that your acne will be gone. It's not that easy. Apply the product for at least 2 or 3 months, or longer as recommended, before you make any judgements. Acne takes a long time to develop, and a long time to control. Even the best acne treatments on the market take quite a while to work. And remember to apply them exactly as recommended.
So, in closing, what are the best acne treatments? See you doctor, then test and try until you find the one for you. Most of them work for some, and none of them work for everyone.
